STAR WARS EPISODE II

Over the past few days, our  Preschool, Elementary, and Secondary students have participated in the second Star Wars Week.

The youngest of the school did a lot of funny activities like connecting the dots, coloring different pictures, dancing… They were happy together learning a lot of things and enjoying them.

The students in 1st and 2nd grade have been participating in some fun and educational activities centered around the characters of Star Wars. We have been exploring the galaxy far, far away through storybooks, and videos, that introduce them to iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Yoda…

The students in 3rd and 4th grade practiced fencing, an Olympic sport, using a lightsaber, just like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Darth Vader, improving their skills and vocabulary on the subject of physical education.

From music, in 5th and 6th grade we have been working on the main melody of the film. First, we analyzed the score; we saw what instrument it was written for, the time signature, and the repetitions. In addition to internalizing a new musical figure, the “tresillo”. And finally, we started playing the melody. 

Secondary students have engaged in creative writing during this week dedicated to Star Wars. The activity involved creating a new character for the saga, providing a context that encompassed the character’s name, home planet, abilities, physical appearance, and any traits that could contribute to the development of a well-rounded character. 

They have generated numerous outstanding ideas and presented them to their classmates. 

Indeed, with such a multitude of characters, they could have conceived their own saga!

Overall, these activities have not only been engaging and entertaining for the children but have also sparked their curiosity and imagination, opening up a new world of possibilities for their learning and growth.

Estos últimos días, nuestros alumnos de Infantil, Primaria y Secundaria han participado en la 2ª semana de Star Wars.

Los más pequeños, celebrando “La guerra de las galaxias” han hecho un montón de actividades divertidas tales como unir puntos, colorear, bailar… Juntos fueron felices aprendiendo un montón de cosas y se lo pasaron muy bien.

El alumnado de 1º y 2º ha participado en diferentes actividades divertidas y educativas centradas en conocer los personajes de la saga. Hemos explorado la muy, muy lejana galaxia a través de cuentos y videos en los que conocieron a los icónicos personajes Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Yoda…

Los alumnos y alumnas de 3º y 4º han practicado esgrima, un deporte olímpico, en el que han usado sables laser, como Obi-Wan Kenobi o Darth Vader, mejorando sus habilidades y vocabulario en la asignatura de educación física.

Desde música, en 5º y 6º, hemos estado trabajando con la melodía principal de la película. Primero hemos analizado la partitura; vimos para que instrumento estaba escrita, el compás y repeticiones. Además de interiorizar una nueva figura musical “el tresillo”. Y finalmente comenzamos a interpretar la melodía.

Los alumnos de secundaria han trabajado la escritura creativa durante esta semana dedicada a Star Wars. La actividad consistió en crear un nuevo personaje para la saga, dándole un contexto que incluyó su nombre, planeta de origen, sus habilidades, aspecto físico,cualquier rasgo que pudiese ayudarles a crear un personaje completo. 

Han tenido muchas ideas estupendas y las han expuesto a sus compañeros de clase.

¡Lo cierto es que con tanto personaje podrían haber creado su propia saga!!

En general, estas actividades no han sido solo atractivas y entretenidas para los alumnos, sino que también han despertado su curiosidad e imaginación, abriendo un nuevo mundo de posibilidades para su aprendizaje y crecimiento.
