OUR FAVOURITE WIZARD

A few days ago, we celebrated World Book Day. In this English Week, we wanted to remember a special character in English literature, who is well-known by every child in the world, our favourite wizard, Harry Potter.

Hace unos días celebramos el Día del Libro en todo el mundo. En esta English Week, quisimos recordar un personaje especial en la literatura inglesa, muy conocido por todos los niños del mundo, nuestro mago favorito, Harry Potter.

Children in Infant Education created a Harry Potter charm which helped them to review the geometrical shapes. They were all so beautiful and also had a very fun time. They played a Harry Potter board game too.

Nuestros chicos/as de Educación Infantil crearon un colgante de Harry Potter, que les ayudó a repasar las formas geométricas. Les quedaron preciosos y lo pasaron fenomenal. También practicaron con un juego de mesa de Harry Potter.

In Arts and Crafts,1^st of Primary talked about the different hats and caps that exist, we discussed what they are for and we found the Harry Potter. We colour them, cut them out and paste them into our drawing pad. We also made an origami hat.

En plástica, en 1º de Primaria hablamos sobre los diferentes sombreros y gorros que existen, debatimos para que sirven y encontramos el de Harry Potter. Los coloreamos, recortamos y pegamos en nuestro bloc de dibujo. También hicimos un sombrero con papiroflexia.

From music,(5th grade) we researched and listened to the main theme of the film. We talked and investigate the composer, John Williams. We found the score and worked on it. We played the main melody with flute and metallophones and performed a rhythmogram with body percussion.

Desde música, alumnos/as de 5º buscamos y escuchamos el tema principal de la película. Hablamos e investigamos sobre el compositor, John Williams. Encontramos la partitura y trabajamos sobre ella. Tocamos la melodía principal con flauta y metalófonos y realizamos un ritmograma con percusión corporal.

Second and fourth-grade students played Quidditch, a well-known game from the saga, in which the kids «flying» on their brooms try to insert one of the three golden snitches (balls) into one of the rival team’s hoops. They can choose the position of Keeper (defender) or that of seeker or striker (attacker), going through both positions.

El alumnado de 2º y 4º jugó al Quidditch, juego de la saga muy conocido, en el cual los alumnos “volando” en sus escobas tratan de introducir una de las tres “snitch” doradas (pelotas), en uno de los aros del equipo rival. Pueden elegir la posición de Guardián (defensor) o la de buscador o golpeador (atacante), pasando por ambos roles.

Third-grade pupils visited the library. There, they could see Harry Potter books, his wand, cloak, tie, sorting hat… Later, we do a crossword while we listened to a rap from the film.

El alumnado de 3º visitó la biblioteca. Allí pudimos ver libros de Harry Potter, su varita, capa, corbata, sombrero… Más tarde, hicimos un crucigrama mientras escuchamos un rap de la película.

Sixth-grade students, watching a piece of the film “Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone”, listened to and learned to do magic, cast a spell, break a spell…  interesting vocabulary. After that, we visited first-grade and Infant Education. We showed them our books and our clothes and play magic with them.

Los chicos/as de sexto, viendo un trocito de la película “Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal” escucharon y aprendieron a hacer magia, lanzar y romper un hechizo…un vocabulario interesante.  Después visitaron a los niños/as de primero y educación infantil. Les enseñaron libros y ropa de Harry, jugando con ellos a hacer magia.

Students in 4ESO have created a compilation with some of the quotations they liked most from Harry Potter books.

El alumnado de 4º de ESO han creado una recopilación de algunas citas que le han gustado más de los libros de Harry Potter.
