OUR GREEN WEEK
This one has been our second English Week and we wanted to celebrate St. Patrick´s Day. There is no real connection between the patron saint of Ireland and leprechauns, but the ideas of wearing green, the shamrocks and the leprechauns are recognised around the world as symbols of Ireland.
These days we have found out about Ireland, the Irish culture, traditions, special food, music, dancing…
And in order to celebrate this festivity, we drew and coloured shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold, rainbows… We played, danced, sang, wore green… and had a really good time!
Esta ha sido nuestra segunda English Week y queríamos celebrar la festividad de San Patricio ( patrón de Irlanda recordado en diferentes países de habla inglesa con grandes desfiles, festivales, iluminación de monumentos y coloración de ríos).
No hay una conexión real entre el patrón de Irlanda y leprechaums, pero las ideas de vestir de verde, los tréboles y los duendecillos se reconocen mundialmente como símbolos de Irlanda.
Estos días hemos investigado sobre Irlanda, su cultura, tradiciones, gastronomía, música, bailes…
Y con el fin de celebrar esta festividad, dibujamos y coloreamos tréboles, duendecillos, ollas de oro, arcoíris… Jugamos, bailamos, cantamos nos vestimos de verde y disfrutamos mucho.
